Patagonia ...
A Land of Extremes and
a Home for Dreamers

Max Schoffel -
Director and Head Guide

Max grew up exploring the mountains of the Bariloche area and decided early to dedicate his professional life to sharing the joys of Patagonia with others. Max graduated from high school in Canada and has since worked in New Hampshire, Alaska, the Swiss Alps, Costa Rica and throughout Western Canada. But he always comes back to his home in Patagonia, where he continues to guide North American and European guests.

Because Max is comfortable in both South and North America, he can reveal many secrets. Max is a fully-certified Mountain Guide by the Argentinean Association of Mountain Guides (AAGM), and has completed his training as a Tourism Guide specializing in Patagonia from a prestigious Bariloche university, and is an active member of the Bariloche Search and Rescue Commission. He loves climbing, paddling, skiing, hiking and just about any adventure in the outdoors.

Max speaks English, German and Spanish fluently and is also a keen naturalist with a passion for both the human history and the unique culture of his homeland. And his sense of adventure is infectious!
